July 1st was my baby shower, and I wanted to share with you the pretty photos that were taken by the lovely Michele Beckwith
I absolutely loved how everything turned out and I definitely couldn’t have done it without my sister in law and besties!
My gorgeous besties!
My beautiful sister in law with her custom onesie for baby girl.
Seriously obsessed with the cake topper.
Just some of the amazing ladies that attended the shower.
My mommy and mommy in law
Presents for baby girl!
Oh and not shower related but I love this shot she got of the living room, makes me seriously want the entire house professionally photographed!
Pinterest gives me more and more inspiration everyday. If only I had enough time in the day to tackle each of these projects.
Like this DIY chandelier, this would be perfect for under our pergola.
Along with this pallet day bed
I would also love to silver leaf a piece of furniture. Like this bedside table
Stenciling some curtains looks like so much fun. I definitely plan to do this soon.
I love succulents and the idea of making them into wall art just gets me giddy.
Next up on my project list is stenciling a rug for our bedroom. I’m a bit nervous about this as it’s not like stenciling a wall where you can paint over it. So we’ll see how this goes.
Oh! and look out for another goodie this week. I made another sunburst mirror because I’m obsessed. ya just a little.
Remember that Bridal Shower I was freaking out about a couple months ago.
Well…. it was a huge success and I have some pretty pictures for you all.
The Bride Melissa, looking flawless as usual.
Nothing like having your Bridesmaid there to lotion up your legs!
As you all know I have no outdoor furniture. So we combined some outdoor furniture from my mother in laws, a vintage desk from my bestie Allison, and pulled some vintage pieces I had around the house. I loved the feeling it gave to the space.
The Bride had the cutest idea, to hang lingerie on clothes pins across the pergola. It came out so cute!
Funny enough I had this old window lying around the house, and I’m happy to say I put it to good use finally!
Another one of the Bride’s amazing ideas, cupcakes in a jar. They were pure deliciousness.
All photography by our amazing friend Cooper Falk
So there you have it! A beautiful vintage chic Bridal Shower for my amazing bestie.
Do you have any fun parties coming up at your home?
I’d love to hear how you tackle them, do you hire a caterer or do you slave away in the kitchen like we did?
Happy Memorial Day!!
This is what I woke up to on Friday. Yay!
I couldn’t wait to get home from work, the anticipation was killing me.
So without further ado, here is a our beautiful backyard
Along the fence line we planted screen trees, that will eventually grow higher than the fence to provide more privacy and block out the view of other houses.
Such a huge transformation from when we first moved in.
I was pretty nervous to let the doggies out, but I knew they were dying to explore their new space.
They felt right at home, so cute.
Great now I have that song stuck in my head! : )
Trying to decide on a door knocker..hmm so many good options out there.
I’m thinking bronze, as all my other hardware is bronze.
But I’m not 100% on that as my current hardware is satin nickel and it actually goes really well with the new door color.
So first up, are some Pottery Barn options
This one is pretty classic and it can be monogrammed! I like that.
Then there is this adorable knocker with a cute little bird perched on top. I don’t know if I can fully commit to tweety though.
I could go more vintage and get this guy off Etsy. I’d still have to spray paint it bronze though.
Here’s a rustic one I found on Amazon
Another rustic one from eBay
Hahaha I’m sorry, I had to put this one up!
I think I prefer the cleaner lines, like this knocker by Baldwin
Oooo Yes! I think I found a winner! Restoration Hardware’s Ring Door Knocker
Here it is in satin nickel too
Help me pick one! Which one is your fave?
we he did it!
Our front door is now a pretty gray blue! Isn’t it gorgeous! I’m in love.
In case you forgot this is what our door used to look like, kind of orangey and scratched to all hell, courtesy of Sarge our pug.
And here’s how it all went down…
First step! Sanding!
We had the primer tinted to our color, which is key.
Then we puttied any imperfections.
This stuff is bad ass and drys super fast!
Next up! Sanding again! Woah we did a lot of sanding.
We chose Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray at150%
After another good sanding, Ryan finally sprayed the finish coat. Look at my man in action.
We even did the interior side blue, I think it totally brightens up the room.
Next up I want to get a retractable screen door (Thanks Jessica for the recommendation!!), update the door hardware and add a cute door knocker.
Hopefully my bank account will recover soon so I can make some purchases!
I want to paint my front door! Well more like, I want my husband to paint it.
You can’t really tell from the picture but right now it’s just a stained doug fir door and I’m kind of over it.
But first I need to remove the screen, but what do I do during those hot summers. ugh Any ideas??
I’m thinking either yellow, turquoise, or light blue.
Here are some pretty door colors I found
Aren’t they gorgeous!
I want to update our door hardware as well, and add a vintage door knocker.
