So since Zoe has been getting more and more active and creative, I decided to update her room to make it more fun and toddler friendly.
My favorite addition to the space is the playhouse canopy from Land of Nod. Zoe is obsessed and it’s now our favorite spot to cozy up and read a good book.
You might notice I switched out the rug, FYI cotton rugs with kids are a nightmare to clean.
This one is a little on the rough side and it came a little damaged, so I ended up getting an incredible deal on it thanks to Overstocks amazing customer service. So I’m keeping it for now because I love the print. I plan to get a larger sheepskin to go over it instead of the two small ones since Zoe loves anything and everything soft and furry.
To free up some more space we moved the crib to the other side where the dresser/changing table used to be. And since we still weren’t ready to give up the changing pad we moved it to the ikea bookcase.
I also made a couple changes to the gallery wall. The owl print is by Kelli Murray, her work is amazing.

I’m still so in love with this glider, and of course the cuddles that come with it.
With Zoe’s book collection growing daily I needed a better storage solution. I’ve always loved the Ikea ledge book walls and now she has her very own!
I had so much fun rearranging and decorating her room and I’m so happy my little client loves it too!
I’m so excited to share Zoe’s nursery with you, each time I walk into this space it makes me so happy.
Her nursery turned out exactly how I wanted it to. A space that was peaceful for a baby but could also be a space she could grow up in without having to completely redecorate.
And it of course had to have a lot of style so mommy could enjoy it as well!
The “For Like Ever” print is one of my favorites and seriously makes the room.
Don’t you think?

My little peanut
Both the window and closet drapes I bought at Ikea and embellished with grosgrain ribbon and pom pom trim. I’m obsessed and of course love the fact that they were super inexpensive.

Well now that I’m officially on maternity leave, I hope to get the nursery completed before our little one makes her arrival. I’ve already gotten so much completed but now I’m at a huge stop because the crib I finally decided on has been back ordered since July!
Ugh I really hope it gets here soon, they are now saying August 17th so keep your fingers crossed.
Anyway, I think I’ve kept you in the dark long enough, here are some sneak peeks of the nursery.
Oh! and thank you all for the paint color feedback, we ended up going with “Lighter Mint” by Sherwin Williams and it was the exact color I was looking for.
My close friends know but most of you don’t…I have the worst time making decisions!
Especially when it comes to ordering something online and potentially not being able to return it.
So it’s unfortunate that all the cribs I like are online only. Really great!
I’ve narrowed it down to 3 and now it’s decision making time, because I really want to get this nursery done before she comes…here’s hoping!
The first option is the Olivia by Baby Mod
I like the modern clean lines, not loving the dark base, so I most likely will end up painting it.
Next is the Hudson by Babyletto
Again love the clean lines, but do you think it’s girly enough. Maybe it’s just the name thats throwing me off.
And my final option would be the Jenny Lind. It’s classic, it’s feminine, and I love the idea of throwing modern bedding with the vintage feel.
So basically the overall feel I want for the nursery, is not matchy matchy but more of an eclectic, modern mixed with vintage pieces.
The other pieces I have in there right now, is an antique dresser and the Ikea Expedit bookshelf. I’m just torn where to go with the crib… I love both styles equally.
So of course the only rational thing to do is blog about it and hopefully get some feedback from you guys, that always seems to help this crazy indecisive girl.
Thank you in advance : )
Feels good, don’t it?
Still so much to do but at least it’s livable now.
Wondering what’s going on with the walls…well it’s a plaster finish my husband did years ago. Unfortunately I have a lot of texture to work with, so I’m hoping the horizontal stripes we do in here won’t be to hard. Has anyone painted stripes over textured walls?
Definitely need to paint those closet doors…might even just replace them and add drapes instead.
We also need a closet system because this setup right now definitely won’t work once all the baby stuff arrives (notice my little goodies I have so far for the nursery)
something like this would be awesome
More on the to do list: paint and caulk baseboards, replace light fixture, install lighting in closet and steam clean carpet.
I’ll keep you posted on our progress…but first I want to get started on that damn bathroom. ugh!
Yes, I’m about to admit I have a secret weapon when it comes to my “hoarding”
Which is everything goes into the guest room and the door stays closed forever.
Until now of course…because it’s time to organize and get this room in tip top shape for babies arrival.
Unfortunately I was too excited to get started and forgot to take before pictures of the room, but trust me it was bad and you could barely even walk inside.
I snapped a couple of pictures during my organizing rampage, it might not look like it but this is major progress.
I hope to have it completely cleared out by this weekend. But I think I’ll leave the bed in there until we get our nursery furniture since believe it or not, we actually have friends stay in here. True friends of course…that don’t judge.
On another note I forgot to share with you my 14 week baby bump.
Have a great weekend!
Today I’m 14 weeks, woo hoo!
26 more weeks to go, oh lord…
One of the many things I look forward to on this prego journey is finding out the sex of our little beeb.
I’m so impatient!
Especially since it’s holding me back from decorating the nursery.
So while waiting semi-patiently, I decided to create a couple of inspiration boards.
Love the soft grays and white, with pops of gold, peach and pink.
I’m loving these vintage airplanes and the simplicity of this room.
I’m crossing my fingers that in 2 weeks I’ll know which board I’m going with. Yay! Can’t wait!
