looks awesome – the cabinets are amazing and i love the details. what’s really great is you actually use elements of your wedding and incorporate them into your home so they didn’t end up going to waste. BOMB! thank me for the comment later, LOL!

Stopped by your blog to check out the overstock rug and fell in love with your adorable home. I love the clean lines yet a very warm and family friendly design.

I’m planning to purchase the rug this evening after looking at how precious it looks in your room.

Do you remember where you purchased the blue and white fabric around your sink? Or do you know the brand of the fabric?

  6. cupcakes and cardigans September 4, 2011 at 7:36 PM #

Can you tell me about your paint in the hallway? It looks fab!

    • Lizzie Stewart September 27, 2011 at 11:36 AM #

Hi! It’s actually a plaster process, my husband did it. I’m not sure what product he used. Glad you like it!
It’s one of our favorite walls in the house.

  9. Heather September 28, 2011 at 10:29 PM #

Just found your blog as I was looking to see pics of your overstock rug. LOVE your house, LOVE the rug, and LOVE this blog! Thank you for the inspiring ideas. One question…what brand/color is the light gray paint on your walls? Love that too! 🙂

    Beautiful Home!

What is your trick to hanging the large IKEA frames in your living room straight? I am trying to hang them in my living room and I don’t like the hanging wire because I can’t seem to get the frames straight. Any tips?

    • Lizzie Stewart December 13, 2011 at 3:07 PM #

The trick is don’t use what ikea provides you. We thought the wire would be tough too so we used those tack on hooks with the teeth…sorry hard to describe. We got a bunch at Lowes. My advice to you is tack them on both sides, one right and one left. We did ours with just one in the middle and now our frames are sagging 😦 Good Luck!

  17. Alicia March 9, 2012 at 9:49 PM #

I would LOVE to know the paint used in your hallway! Very rustic – LOVE!

    • Lizzie Stewart March 13, 2012 at 11:47 AM #

      Hi Alicia!
It’s actually not paint, but plaster. It’s a finish my husband did, as he’s a professional painter. I believe it involves multiple steps.
If you are still interested I can ask him where he ordered the product from.

  18. Megan Sloan March 10, 2012 at 7:43 PM #

I found you via Pinterest (I think I was searching pillows) and I had to come check it out. I love when bloggers show off their house… AND you included a pic of the front too! Not many people do that (why?!). Very nice house! I wish I could come steal some of your items and put them in my house… like your kitchen, bathroom, accessories… umm, yeah, a lot of stuff! 🙂 Love it!!

  19. etta March 22, 2012 at 12:38 PM #

I have to say a big thank you for sharing all your decorting secrets. I looove love love..yes love..your style! I am so bad at trying to decorate our place and it helps to be able to see what works and then know where to get items that I like. Seriously thank you for sharing!!

So lovely! I was just wondering about your starburst mirror in your breakfast nook was that a DIY?

  21. Christine April 3, 2012 at 4:55 PM #

I found you via Yelp (came across your profile when reading reviews of Murrieta’s Well as that’s where we’re getting married too!)…your house is lovely, and I love coming across other Bay Area bloggers.

I was wondering if you could share what paint colors you used on the outside of your house? We’re shopping for paint now to repaint our exterior and that color is pretty close to what we’re looking for.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    • Lizzie Stewart April 4, 2012 at 11:46 AM #

      Hi Christine!

Crazy you found me on Yelp! The exterior color on our house is Benjamin Moore Sage Mountain 1488, I love it!

      Thanks for reading!

      • Christine April 4, 2012 at 3:16 PM #

Thank you! We’ll go scope that color out in person 🙂

Whats your living room paint color?

  23. Sarah July 3, 2012 at 9:37 PM #

I love your house! I just bought a house in Carmel (a little south of you). It is a 1960’s with ugly old bedroom doors in the hallway. Where did you get your wood color doors? I only found white at Home Depot (Monterey). Also, my house has 8 foot ceilings, do you know your ceiling height (guessing you have 10′ ceilings)? Once we save up more we might raise the ceiling. FYI, I noticed your blog on overstock because i am about to order the same rug.

    • Lizzie Stewart July 5, 2012 at 11:03 AM #

      Hi Sarah!

Congrats on your new home! I absolutely love Carmel. We got our doors from Lou’s Doors in San Jose, they are doug fir and my husband glazed and finished them.
And we have 8 ft ceilings not 10ft (I wish!)

Good luck on your new home!

  24. Crystal Byington July 6, 2012 at 11:44 AM #

    • Lizzie Stewart October 3, 2012 at 1:59 PM #

A bathroom vanity can be defined as the combination of the bathroom sink or basin and the storage that surrounds it. It is generally thought of as being a piece of bathroom cabinetry that is designed to hold the sink and conceal the associated plumbing as well as providing much needed storage. The benchtop is also an important part of the bathroom vanity and benchtops are available in stone, reconstituted stone, cement, wood, laminate, and more. Bathroom vanities are made from different materials but they are usually moisture resistant or waterproof, due to the fact that the bathroom is the biggest wet area in the home…
