clean slate

Feels good, don’t it?

GR2

Still so much to do but at least it’s livable now.

GR5

Wondering what’s going on with the walls…well it’s a plaster finish my husband did years ago. Unfortunately I have a lot of texture to work with, so I’m hoping the horizontal stripes we do in here won’t be to hard. Has anyone painted stripes over textured walls?

GR44

Definitely need to paint those closet doors…might even just replace them and add drapes instead.

GR3

We also need a closet system because this setup right now definitely won’t work once all the baby stuff arrives (notice my little goodies I have so far for the nursery)

something like this would be awesome

More on the to do list: paint and caulk baseboards, replace light fixture, install lighting in closet and steam clean carpet.

I’ll keep you posted on our progress…but first I want to get started on that damn bathroom. ugh!

Yes, I have done horizontal stripes on textured walls and I have two words for you…Frog Tape! This stuff worked well on my hallway project…

There are lots of tips out there…using a damp rag along the edge before painting worked for me. Good Luck!

Agreed with frog tape. Works amazingly. Big tip. . . whatever the main wall color is going to be, paint that first. then tape, then paint again OVER the tape on the inside of the stripe where the new color will be. This seals the tape edge. That way if it does bleed through the tape, the main wall color bleed through instead of the stripe color. then paint your stripes like normal. Did that make sense? Hope it helps.
