Mirrored Cabinet

2 Aug

So remember my “window shopping” at Home Goods last week, well I didn’t leave empty handed. Obviously.

I’ve been on the look out for a mirrored cabinet for the living room, because you all  know I love me some mirrored goodness.

Just so you don’t think I’m crazy here’s a pretty picture I found.

And here’s my gorgeous new cabinet!

I wasn’t to fond of the knobs, I thought they looked a little cheap, so I did a little swap with another side table I had. Just a little temporary solution until I go knob shopping.

I’d like to raise the TV up a bit too, so I can have some room to display stuff. If only I could disguise that damn cable box. Ugh such an eye sore. Any tips?

I’m pretty much obsessed.

What about an antique roll-up bread box like this one for your cable box?

I’ve seen some cute one with old lettering painted on them, but the simplicity of this one is cool too. The wood grain would look nice with the mirror cabinet.

Oooor…. You could rearrange the hinge on a decorative box so that when you lift the lid, it lifts the sides of the box with it. The cable box would be sitting inside and you’d just have to rig some way of keeping the decorative box propped up while the cable box is in use. A locking hinge might do it.

I have a solution for your cable box. I see you are in to cane back chairs and other cool vintage pieces…why I love your blog…you could take a piece of caning and make a cool lacquer box to sit the TV on than goes over the cable box and has the caning on one side so your remote can still send a signal to the box and you never have to see it…it basically will look like a riser for the TV.
