26 weeks

25 May

I’m a little behind on my weekly belly shots.

I’m actually 26 weeks as of yesterday but here’s some shots from last weekend while we were in Carmel celebrating our 2 year anniversary.

BTW I finally decided on a paint color for the nursery and we finished painting it last night! Once I clean it all up I’ll post some photos.

Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!

the perfect mint paint

23 May

I’m on the hunt for the perfect mint paint.

I’ve actually already tried about 10 colors, with still no luck.

This is what I’m looking for

The above color is actually Robins Nest by Ben Moore. But of course with lighting and camera settings it’s a beautiful mint color. Which I must have!

BTW I tried Robins Nest and it’s way too dark for the space and of course not mint.

This one is Spearmint Stick by Behr…pretty right? well the swatch is almost fluorescent green. Not exactly what the photo reads. But I still love this color and want it!

Fun, right?

Well we decided to get a couple of bids for the plumbing work, because with our day jobs, the nursery, baby shower and of course the baby herself coming in less than 4 months, we decided it was just too much for the husband to tackle.

So while I wait for the plumbing to be done, I started looking at tile options.

Love the bathroom over at Life Begins at Thirty Right?

and these beauties found on Pinterest.

So I went ahead and ordered a sample of this gorgeous tile.

1×1 Polished Carrera Marble Hexagon mosaic.

Seriously loving this for the floor!

I wonder how marble will hold up on the floor though. I’ve been so afraid to ever use it in my house because it’s not as durable as porcelain or ceramic.

Do you have or know anyone with marble floors? How do they hold up?

Lately I’ve been pretty consumed with the baby shower, although I have my sister in law, sister and girlfriends all helping me. I can’t help obsessing over it, plus its at my house so I love that I will have full creative control on all the décor.

Still no real cravings. Which I guess is good, because the scale won’t stop moving! Pretty crazy to see it go up each week, something I’m so not used to.

It’ll all be worth it though, once I meet my sweet girl.

In other news, we started working on the nursery. I’ll post an update on that soon.

Have great week!

21 weeks

20 Apr

I’m officially past the half way point. Yay!! only 19 more weeks to go!

Baby girl is growing big and strong, because her kicks are getting so much stronger these days.

So other than the scale not much else has changed these days. Ha!

I’m just enjoying being pregnant and flaunting this bump.

My current cravings have been cereal…love me some cereal. It’s basically my dessert after dinner. Right now I’m obsessed with this brand.

bumpers

I could easily eat this all day!

In fact I’m going to pour myself a bowl right now ; )

Have a great weekend!

demolition has begun

13 Apr

Yay!!

We (meaning the husband) finally took a hammer and crowbar to the old bathroom!

IMG_9166

I took some quick shots before he got started in case you forgot how horrible this bathroom looked.

While the husband got started, I documented.

IMG_9173

Bye bye ugly ass toilet! Ewww I forgot about the old linoleum we used to have in there.

IMG_9176

Both layers of linoleum came up fairly easy and surprisingly our sub floor was in pretty good condition.

IMG_9179

Now for the fun part! Breaking tile! I so wish I could have been in on this.

And this is where we ended off, a pretty good start for our first day, which was actually just 2 hours.

The plan is to have it completely gutted by the end of this weekend.

19 weeks

11 Apr

Can’t believe I’m already at 19 weeks, almost half way there!!

19 weeks

This past week baby girl has been kicking up a storm. She gets really active after dinner when I lay down to rest. I love feeling her move, It’s like our own special time together.

And on Easter Sunday after we were winding down from a long day, she was very happy and active so Daddy got to feel her for the first time!

I still haven’t had many cravings, or if I do I forget about them pretty quickly.

Last night I got really creative and made a belly butter recipe I came across on Molly Sim’s blog

belly butter recipe

Basically you melt all these ingredients together. It’s super oily but It’s going to be so great for my expanding belly.
