I don’t know if you noticed but now that we moved the table to the right for the upcoming built-in bench, our chandelier is looking a little off…

So instead of having the husband move the electrical box, I was thinking of just putting up a flush mount or semi flush mount light. I’m hoping by going with this option you won’t notice the off centerness. Plus its a good excuse to update our light fixture, I’m super sick of this Pottery Barn one, my style has changed so much over the last 3 years.
Here are some pretty lights I found.
OK technically these two aren’t flush mounts, but I think if I hung them high enough they could work.
So what do you think? It’s so hard for me to picture it without the cabinets painted. (which we plan to do soon! Yeee!) So help me out, do you have a fave?
So now that I’ve finished the living room (for now at least) I wanted to start tackling our breakfast nook. It had been previously taken over by the dogs but now that Zoe is eating solids we have really started to use the area again.
You can’t really tell from the photo but the table was way to big for the space, and now with the addition of a highchair it felt very crowded.

So on to craigslist the table went and in came the new!

I had been wanting a vintage Saarinen table for a long time now, but damn are they expensive! So I decided to just bite the bullet (after much convincing to the husband) and buy the knock off version from Ikea.

I absolutely love it! You really can’t beat the price and it’s the perfect size for the space. Yay!

We also plan to install a built in corner bench, which will free up a lot more space.
So much pretty inspiration on pinterest.

Anyway I’m excited to see it all come together and this time I’ll try and keep you all in the loop!
Have a great weekend!
I’m finally sitting down to blog, boy have I been busy!
This little munch keeps me on my toes, especially with her 45 minute naps! During that time I try to cram in a shower and some food, so hopefully you understand why the blog has been so quiet.
For the last month I’ve been slowly changing up things in the living room. I got really sick of the yellow and sold the ottoman and bought the CB2 Peekaboo acrylic coffee table. Once it arrived I was very underwhelmed, I just wasn’t feeling it for the space and I couldn’t help but picture little Zoe bonking into it in the future.
Anyway get ready for picture overload.

obsessed with my new pillows, the striped is from etsy and the coral fretwork and navy deco are from Caitlin Wilson Textiles

You might also notice I painted the sunburst mirror gold. Doesn’t it look so much better!? Everything looks better in gold (words I live by).

I need to have more fresh flowers in my life.

I had been lusting over this brass tray for a very long time, I don’t know why I waited so long to get it because I think its absolutely stunning.

I decided to go with a more neutral ottoman this time around, it gives me more room to play with colors.

Ummm $10.00 ikea pillow. Yes please!

While at ikea I picked up some Ritva drapes, I love these drapes! Not only are they a great price but I love how the light shines through so beautifully.

I added grosgrain ribbon, such an easy DIY and so chic.

can’t forget to give credit to my little stylist for being so patient while mama snapped away.

PS
my house is never this neat and tidy with ZERO baby toys. I had just gotten the rug and sofa cleaned so it was the perfect opportunity to take some lovely photos for you all. Just thought I’d let you know ; )
Well I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
We had so much fun celebrating Zoe’s first Christmas! Zoe smiled a lot and mommy cried a lot! I couldn’t believe how emotional I was!
Daddy took some holiday time off so we’ve gotten a couple projects done around the house, one of them being the new gallery wall.
We needed to make this one a little more baby friendly, the other one was just too low to the ground and the ikea frames were sagging, one of them even fell!
Compared to how long and hard the last one took this one was a breeze! We didn’t really have any layout planned we just started nailing them up!

I got all the white frames from Home Goods and the gold ones from Aaron Brothers.

I love that I can keep adding to this one as well, lots of room for our future babies! : )
Hope you all have a wonderful New Years! See you in 2013!!!
